How do I use my Cozy?
Using your Cozy is simple:
- Place your food into a microwave-safe bowl, plate, dish, or container.
- Place the bowl, plate, or dish into the appropriate Cozy.
- Microwave as normal.
- When your food is heated, lift the Cozy using the corner tabs, wings, or side handles.
Your Cozy helps make it easier and safer to lift hot bowls, plates, and dishes from the microwave without relying on tea towels or bulky oven mitts.
Always use care when handling hot food, as the food and container may be extremely hot.

What size bowls will fit in the Bowl Cozy?
The Bowl Cozy is designed for microwave-safe bowls with:
- Top diameter up to 20 cm / 7.75 inches
- Base diameter up to 10 cm / 4 inches
- Height up to 8 cm / 3.25 inches
What size bowls will fit in the Big Bowl Cozy?
The Big Bowl Cozy is designed for larger microwave-safe bowls with:
- Top diameter up to 23 cm / 9 inches
- Base diameter up to 13 cm / 5 inches
- Height up to 8 cm / 3.25 inches
What size plates will fit in the Plate Cozy?
The Plate Cozy is designed for microwave-safe plates with a diameter of up to:
28 cm / 11 inches

Dish Cozies* and Frozen Meals
What are the Dish Cozies designed for?
Our Dish Cozies are designed for square and rectangular microwave-safe dishes, including:
- Supermarket frozen meal trays
- Meal-prep containers
- Glass cookware
- Ceramic cookware
- Leftovers stored in square or rectangular dishes
- Pasta bakes, casseroles, lasagne, and similar meals
They are ideal when the dish or container becomes too hot to handle after heating.

Can I use the Dish Cozy with supermarket frozen meals?
Yes. The Dish Cozy Square and Dish Cozy Rectangle are designed with supermarket frozen meals in mind.
Always check that the frozen meal tray is marked as microwave safe and follow the heating instructions on the meal packaging. Some frozen meals can require longer heating times, which means the tray and the Cozy may become hotter.
Use the tabs or sides of the Cozy carefully when removing the meal from the microwave.
Heating and Safety
How hot will the Cozy get in the microwave?
In most everyday microwave use, such as heating food for 3–5 minutes, the Cozy will usually become warm rather than extremely hot, even when the bowl, plate, or dish itself becomes very hot.
When heating food for longer periods, such as frozen meals that may require 5–10 minutes, the Cozy may become hotter. This is generally caused by heat transferring from the hot food and container into the silicone.
The hotter the food, the longer the heating time, and the higher the fat, oil, or sugar content of the food, the warmer the Cozy may feel.
The Cozy itself does not normally absorb significant microwave energy. Any warmth is usually caused by heat transferring from the hot food and container.
Always use caution when handling hot food.
Is the Cozy safe for children to use?
Children should always be supervised when heating or handling hot food.
The Cozy helps make hot bowls, plates, and dishes easier to handle, but the food and container may still be very hot. The Cozy should be placed on a flat, stable surface during use.
Can I use the Cozy with glass or ceramic cookware?
Yes. Our Cozies are designed to be used with microwave-safe glass and ceramic bowls, plates, and dishes.
Glass and ceramic can become extremely hot in the microwave, especially when heating liquids, leftovers, casseroles, or frozen meals. The Cozy helps make handling easier, but care should still be taken.
Can I use the Cozy with metal containers?
No. Do not use metal containers in the microwave.
Only use your Cozy with bowls, plates, dishes, and containers that are marked as microwave safe.
Can I put the Cozy in a conventional oven?
Yes. Our Cozies can be used in a conventional oven and are heat resistant up to:
230°C / approximately 440°F
However, oven heating is different from microwave heating. In a conventional oven, the Cozy will get hot.
Always use oven mitts or suitable heat protection when removing the Cozy from an oven.
Allow the Cozy to cool before handling it directly.
Can I put the Cozy in an air fryer?
Yes. The Cozy can be used in an air fryer, provided the temperature does not exceed:
230°C / approximately 440°F
As with a conventional oven, the Cozy will get hot in an air fryer. Always use oven mitts or suitable heat protection when removing it.
Make sure the Cozy is placed safely inside the air fryer basket and does not touch the heating element.
Can I use the Cozy under the grill or broiler?
No. We do not recommend using the Cozy under a grill, broiler, or direct flame.
The Cozy is designed for microwave use and can also be used in ovens or air fryers up to the stated temperature limit, but it should not be exposed to direct heat sources.
Is the Cozy dishwasher safe?
Yes. The Cozy is dishwasher safe.
You can wash it in the dishwasher with your other dishes or wash it by hand in warm soapy water.
Are the Cozies microwave safe?
Yes. Our Cozies are microwave safe.
They are designed to sit with your microwave-safe bowl, plate, dish, or container while your food is heating.
Always ensure the bowl, plate, dish, or container you are using is also microwave safe.
Are the Cozies freezer safe?
Yes. The Cozies are freezer safe down to approximately:
-50°C / -58°F
Care and Cleaning
Should I wash my Cozy before first use?
Yes. We recommend washing your Cozy in warm soapy water before first use.
How do I clean my Cozy?
You can clean your Cozy by:
- Washing it by hand in warm soapy water; or
- Placing it in the dishwasher.
Because the Cozy is made from silicone, it does not absorb moisture like fabric bowl holders and is easy to rinse or wipe clean after use.
Silicone and the LFGB Standard
What is the Cozy made from?
Our Cozies are made from premium LFGB-certified food-grade silicone.
Silicone is flexible, durable, heat resistant, reusable, and easy to clean. It is well suited to everyday kitchen use because it can withstand microwave heating, oven temperatures, freezer storage, and dishwasher cleaning.
Why does Bias Designs use LFGB-certified food-grade silicone?
At Bias Designs, we wanted a material that was safe, durable, reusable, and practical for everyday use around food.
That is why our Cozies are made from LFGB-certified food-grade silicone. LFGB is a recognised European food safety standard and is known for its strict testing requirements.
We chose silicone because it is:
- Heat resistant
- Flexible
- Durable
- Reusable
- Easy to clean
- Non-porous
- Dishwasher safe
- Freezer safe
- Suitable for microwave use
Unlike fabric bowl holders, silicone does not stay damp, absorb spills, or require long drying times after washing.
What is the LFGB standard?
LFGB is a European food safety standard used to test materials that come into contact with food.
For silicone products, LFGB testing is generally regarded as more rigorous than many basic food-contact standards because it places strict limits on substances that may transfer from the silicone into food.
Using LFGB-certified silicone adds to the manufacturing cost, but it gives us confidence that our Cozies are made from a high-quality material suitable for everyday kitchen use.

Where are your warehouses located?
For Australian orders, our warehouse is located in Melbourne, Australia.
For United States orders, our warehouse is located in Los Angeles, California.
This allows us to ship orders locally to customers in Australia and the USA.
What are my shipping options?
For Australian orders, we ship using Australia Post.
Available shipping options are:

For United States orders, we use a range of trusted carriers depending on the delivery location.

When will my order be dispatched?
We aim to dispatch orders within 24 hours on business days.
Orders placed on weekends or public holidays will usually be processed on the next business day.
Do you offer free shipping?
Yes. Standard shipping is included at no extra cost on eligible orders.
Any express or priority shipping options available for your order will be shown at checkout.
Can I track my order?
Yes. Once your order has been shipped, you will receive tracking information by email so you can follow the progress of your delivery.
Can I use a discount code?
Yes.
If you are ordering on a computer, you will see a discount code box during checkout where you can enter and apply your code.
If you are ordering on a mobile device, tap “Show order summary” at checkout. This will open the order summary section where you can enter and apply your discount code.
Only one discount code may be available per order unless otherwise stated.
What if I ordered the wrong size?
Please check the size guide before ordering to make sure you choose the right Cozy for your bowl, plate, or dish.
If you are unsure which size is best, the Bowl Cozy suits most standard bowls, the Big Bowl Cozy is designed for larger bowls, the Plate Cozy suits plates up to 28 cm, and the Dish Cozies are designed for square and rectangular dishes or frozen meal trays.
