Welcome to Bias Designs, a family business based in beautiful Tasmania, Australia.

Like many families, we use the microwave every day — for soups, leftovers, porridge, noodles, frozen meals, and quick lunches. But there was one problem we kept running into: hot bowls, plates, and dishes were awkward and uncomfortable to handle.

Tea towels slipped. Oven mitts were bulky. And more than once, hot ceramic and glass bowls led to burnt fingers.

So we asked a simple question:

Could there be a better way to safely handle hot bowls and dishes straight from the microwave?

That question led to the creation of our first product, the Bowl Cozy.

Our Cozies are designed to sit with your bowl, plate, or dish while heating, helping you lift and carry hot meals more comfortably from the microwave to the table. Made from premium LFGB-certified food-grade silicone, they are microwave safe, dishwasher safe, reusable, easy to clean, and designed for everyday kitchen use.

What began with the Bowl Cozy has now grown into a practical range of kitchen helpers, including:

Bowl Cozies, Big Bowl Cozies, Plate Cozies, and Dish Cozies*.

Each product has been designed around real everyday kitchen problems — from reheating soup and leftovers to handling hot dinner plates, supermarket frozen meals, and glass or ceramic cookware.
